Pro Anglers League, better known as PAL, is one of the most prestigious sport fishing tournaments in Europe and Russia, bringing together the best professional anglers. Created to elevate fishing to a new, competitive level, PAL has become an arena for mastery, technique, strategy, and passion for the water.
The tournament began in 2010 in Russia and has since grown both in the number of participants and in interest from spectators and media. The format follows the traditions of American bass tournaments but is adapted for European conditions and popular fish species such as zander, pike, and perch.
PAL is held in several rounds throughout the season, usually on different bodies of water—reservoirs, lakes, and rivers. Participants compete in two-person teams, using motorboats equipped with sonars, GPS, and high-tech gear. Each tournament lasts two days, and winners are determined by the total weight of the catch, which is returned to the water after weighing—a sign of a sustainable approach to fishing.
One of the most recognizable faces in PAL is Andrey Pitertsov—one of Russia’s most successful spinning anglers. He is not only a champion in many tournaments but also an influential figure in the fishing industry, known for his precise technique and tactical thinking.
PAL is a platform for the most advanced fishing technologies. Participants rely on proven, high-quality, and effective tackle, including carefully selected rods and lures:
ZETRIX has become a preferred choice among competitors due to its high quality and functionality. The most popular models among PAL anglers include:
Zetrix Avalanche – strong and sensitive, ideal for heavy jigging.
Zetrix Hayron – a versatile choice for dynamic fishing in various conditions.
Zetrix Headway – lightweight, precise, and fast-action – perfect for technical approaches.
Zetrix Orsa Nero – a premium model with exceptional sensitivity and control.
FRAPP lures stand out with their natural action, durable material, and effectiveness in competitive settings. Successfully used in PAL, selected models include:
FRAPP Dotty Dart – for fast and aggressive jigging.
FRAPP Funky Shad – wide and attractive action during slow retrieve.
FRAPP Geko – natural profile, great for finicky pike.
FRAPP Gekoslug – finesse bait for tough conditions and passive predators.
FRAPP Razzle – lively, chaotic action that triggers strikes even in cold water.
PAL competitions are broadcast live with professional commentary, drone footage, interviews, and analysis. The atmosphere is like that of a sports show—fans follow every move of their favorite anglers, and the events attract new generations passionate about fishing.
PAL shows that fishing can be competitive, innovative, and environmentally responsible. It inspires new anglers, promotes technical development, and presents fishing as a modern and respected sport.
PAL is not just a fishing competition—it’s an elite stage for passion, strategy, and a feel for the water. And when you have the right tackle by your side—like Zetrix rods and FRAPP lures—success is not a matter of luck, but of precise preparation.
